Logo and Patch Design for OEO

I've been working with a group of flight simulator designers for a few years now. Recently we've been getting close to releasing a full website for the Operation Enduring Odyssey server. In the mean time, I meant to show the final design of the logo that will become a wearable patch.

The simulation takes place over the UAE, Southern Iran and the surrounding waters of the Gulf of Oman. When Designing the patch I used a simple topographical map layout like many patches from the 1980s-1990s. Since the main focus of the campaign is run by NATO combined forces, I added a version of their logo, a stylized compass rose, over the peninsula.
